Repair or Repipe

The first step in determining whether repair or repipe is required is having an experienced plumber from Plumbing Plus assess your situation. If you notice that an isolated leak or a small portion of your existing piping or valves are corroded/cracked, you may be able to repair the problem and not install a new system. If you are experiencing low water pressure throughout all the faucets in your house, notice large corrosion or several leaks, it may be time to repipe your home.

Slab Leak Repair

With state-of-the-art equipment, Plumbing Plus is able to find concealed leaks including leaks behind walls, under concrete slabs, among landscaping and irrigation systems and radiant heat systems. Even with the latest equipment and techniques, some leaks cannot be pinpointed exactly. For this reason, Plumbing Plus is not responsible for any cost associated with additional leak detection included extra labor. Typically, Plumbing Plus can directly repair these leaks without a lot of disruption or inconvenience.

What is Copper Repiping?

Copper repiping is a process of refitting pipes in a home or business. Repiping is not a temporary fix or replacement of short sections of pipe throughout your structure. Copper repiping gives you great water pressure throughout your home, improves delivery of hot water, eliminates costly water damage repair bills and saves money on water lost to an inefficient system.

Repiping projects should not wait until you start noticing leaks. Watch for signs associated with degenerating pipes, such as flakes of dark material in your water, odd-tasting tap water or decreased water pressure.

A good way to determine if your pipes need repair or replacement is the "Flow Test". Turn on multiple faucets in your home and check for a significant drop in water pressure. Make sure to check showers, sinks, and outside faucets at the same time to check your water pressure.

Pressure Regulator Replacement

The Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) requires that water delivered to homes be between 50 to 70 pounds per square inch (psi).

Water pressure regulators take the water as it is delivered by the water district, and regulate it between 50 and 70 psi. The pieces in the water pressure regulator that reduce the water pressure are made of rubber and metal. Over a period of time, they can fail. When the water pressure regulator fails, water pressure to the home is allowed to increase, which puts a strain on valves, hoses, appliances and causes water hammer. Unchecked, excessive water pressure may cause a rupture in the supply lines or valves. If you suspect an issue with your water pressure, Plumbing Plus will perform a water pressure test gauge to determine the exact pressure. If required, Plumbing Plus can efficiently replace your water pressure regulator to provide optimized and safe water pressure to your home.

Gas Lines

Gas leaks can lead to serious problems and should be attended to immediately. Commercial gasses, such as the kind of gas your stove or heater uses, have a strong odor. If you smell a gas leak in your home, you need to act quickly.
  • The most important thing to do for a gas leak is to get fresh air and get out
  • Whatever you do, don't light a match, lighter, candle or cigarette
  • Even an electrical current could start an explosion, so avoid turning any appliances on or off, including lights
